Greetings Teak Place Estate Family and Friends,
As the days get shorter and the nights longer, it’s been a very strange start to our winter here at Teak Place Estate. In previous years, the month of May was always reluctantly welcomed with the start of single digit temperatures, changes in colour of the vegetation and the dreaded dry air. However, this year we are still experiencing rainfall in mid-May and the landscape seems to be clinging on to all its green glory.
However, the drop in temperature has finally indicated that we are headed straight into the winter months. This is why passive design is such a key element when designing a home at Teak Place Estate. Passive design is a design that harnesses the local climate to maintain a comfortable temperature in the home. Good passive design should reduce or eliminate the need for additional heating or cooling depending on the location. This is paramount when designing homes that are off the grid to ensure that the system supplying the energy/power for the home, in our case solar, is feasible as it can become a very costly exercise when there is need for more capacity for high energy appliances (underfloor heating, aircons, etc). Natural light, heat, and air movement are all maximized to reduce the need for energy to light, warm, and cool a building.
Our next home in Wagon ridge is coming along nicely with the majority of the wet works being completed. The finishes will then get underway before welcoming the new resident to our family. This home, in particular, has been a very exciting project for our team. Pure Design, yet again, designed a stunning home incapsulating the true essence of the Estate and ethos of ‘touching the earth lightly’. The home flows with the natural contours and makes use of exposed concrete and textured concrete tiles mimicking the presence of the vegetation in its immediate surrounds. Roof top gardens will ensure the landscape is carried throughout, giving the impression that this homes, was meant for this very spot. A lot of love, passion and collaboration between client, architect and construction teams has gone into this project and we look forward to bringing it to life.
In recent years the term ‘lifestyle’ has become ever more popular and a necessity when homeowners consider a new property to call HOME. So what really constitutes a true lifestyle property – and more specifically, one which offers the ultimate way of living?
We believe Teak Place Estate is the ultimate lifestyle estate as the property offers an exceptional way of life by meeting homeowners every need and more, in an environment that enhances their daily lives in inspiring surrounds. Contact us for more information and enquire today on what’s on offer:
